The Iowa Department of Transportation’s Administration Services Division (ASD) wants you to join its team! As a Revenue Auditor 2. Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform moderate to complex motor carrier audits, independently executing a full range of analytical examinations with the IFTA/IRP programs.
- Write final Audit reports that clearly summarize and describe the condition of the carrier’s records, explaining the findings and remedial actions to be taken.
- Provide input in the development of new audit procedures and programs.
- Perform limited review of Audits completed by other staff

Hours and Additional Information:
This position allows for flexible hours between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
The Team:
Our newest member will be joining the Finance Bureau of nearly 40 staff located in Ames. You will also occasionally work with the Motor carrier services staff.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a minimum of twelve semester hours in accounting, and eighteen months of full-time professional accounting or financial auditing experience.
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree in accounting and one year of full-time professional accounting or financial auditing experience.
- Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate and graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a minimum of twelve semester hours in accounting.
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in accounting.
- Number 1 or 3 above, where each year of full-time work experience in public or private sector accounting, auditing, budgeting, assessment, computation, or collection of taxes, or closely-related financial functions may substitute for thirty semester hours of the required education.
- Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes one year of full-time work as an Accountant/Auditor 1.
